Africa has a way of reorienting my concept of "mountains and mole hills."

The site of those red fired bricks, bring joy to anyone when they are delivered to a "trip" is delivered to a family's compound. It means progress is in the works, however slow it is. Building a house can sometimes take up to 10 years to complete.... and that's for the lucky ones. Progress, however small, is still progress.

So true man. My friends are working up in the NE of Uganda with the Ik people. they are working on a house in Timu. They could have easily ordered the brick in Kaabong and had it brought in, but have a local guy do it, changes things a little bit like you said. Poli-poli. Things that create ripples start to really churn up the water after a while.
